Choose the route that matches the status and type of record:
- For a booking record or releasable photo, start with the countywide records and arrest guide, then use the WCSO Records/FOIA route.
- For someone just arrested, check Arrests Last 24 Hours and call the jail custody line if the entry has not appeared.
- For a multi-day view, use the Police Blotter; a dispatch call alone does not prove an arrest.
- For custody changes or release alerts, use VINELink Custody Check.
- For the outcome after booking, use the 17th Judicial Circuit Clerk record system because a jail entry is not a court disposition.
- For a person admitted to state prison, use the Illinois Department of Corrections Individual in Custody Search.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the official Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator.
Rockford and Loves Park keep their own police records, so requests for a city police report should go to the arresting department. Machesney Park contracts its police service to WCSO and does not have a separate municipal jail roster.
